Namibia, a unique and fascinating country! Its attractions range from stunning desert landscapes to prime wildlife safaris; from rugged canyons to ancient rock formations; and there are a whole lot of unpopulated places in between. The wide horizons, the clear unpolluted skies, and a population density that is among the lowest in the world generate a sense of freedom.
Our Namibia visit includes the drive through the vast Kalahari, a day hike along the Fish River Canyon, and the climbing of the gigantic sand dunes at Sossusvlei. We stop at the seaside
towns of Luederitz and Swakopmund on the Skeleton Coast, and explore the fascinating rock formations and Bushman rock art in Twyfelfontain, where we also get good sights of the desert-adapted wildlife. Our drive continues into Kaokoland, the last frontier of true wilderness and the realm of the nomadic Himba people. The highlight of the seventeen days awaits us at Etosha National Park, one of Africa's greatest wildlife sanctuaries. Dominated by its enormous shimmering saltpan, Etosha is an area of wild savannah and open woodland, and it is home to a fantastic array of animals. Our two-day
safari into the park with its size of a small country will be a ‘once in a lifetime experience’. Unlike our regular tours, this trip will not include any cycling! Due to the enormous distances between places, the rough and dusty roads, and a general lack of the cyclist’s infrastructure, we instead will take you on a road trip in our 12-seater van. Where the pavement ends, the adventure will start! The restaurants and our lodging, however, will be of highest standards, and will add to a most memorable holiday!
